Moving matters.
It matters for poverty reduction.
It matters for well-being.
And it matters for policy.
Migration is also a moving matter. It evokes in most of us a wave of emotional arguments – often conflicting ones: good vs. bad, for vs. against, more vs. less.
I am a PhD candidate and a policy analyst working for an international organisation dealing with social and economic development in the developing world. Generally, my research deals with the links between migration and development, with a focus on developing economies.
This blog serves as a sort of depository for the ideas that I’ve developed or come across at some point during my research, but that I have never had time to formally write about. I publish ideas and rants on the general links between migration and development and hopefully some of these will be useful to you and will lead to deeper discussions. These might take the form of maps, reviews, rants or publications.
Once a week, I also publish links on new policy, news items, publications, events and jobs linked with migration.
In general the posts will follow the following structure:
Monday- migration policy
Tuesday – migration in the news
Wednesday – adhoc
Thursday – Publications on migration research
Friday – Events and Jobs dealing with migration issues
